Management at William Buck New Zealand

8.6
8.6 rating for Management, based on 12 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
The managers are very accessible, and are excellent mentors. They have no problem with graduates asking questions and are happy to teach you if you are struggling. Managers also check in with members during one on one meetings every few weeks, where you can share any concerns or ask any questions you have.

Although I have not been with the company for a long time, I have had the opportunity to work directly under two managers from different teams. I can confidently say that both have been exceptionally supportive and patient. They provide a strong sense of backing and security, demonstrating outstanding leadership qualities. Their approach to mentorship, internal communication, and providing feedback or recognition has positively impacted my experience here.

Not satisfied. Poor mentorship and leadership qualities. Managers should be competent to provide coaching to fresh graduates despite cultural differences. Apparently, same cultured individuals are provided better coaching/help/explanations than others. Managerial communication is quite authoritative and lacks approachability. Proper channel is that a graduate should seek most assistance from seniors and managers, however, in personal experience, I have to rely on directors for help and guidance as the colleagues are unapproachable and provide very limited explanations, apparently not willing to engage in a discussion to help understand concepts.
